CAME PARKARE PRESENTS THE CASE OF THE CITY OF MADRID AT THE MOBILITY REPORT OF AIPARK-ASSTRA IN ROME

Past May the 2019 Edition from Mobility Report took place in Rome (Italy). It was organized as usual by AIPARK (the Italian parking and mobility operators association) and ASSTRA (international transport and logistics company) and this year counted on the collaboration of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Rome.

The mobility system in Italy, as in most of Europe, is in imbalance with a clear trend towards private mobility, which has a negative impact on pollution, environment, territory, economy and society.

The sustainable development of mobility and local public transport involves the optimization of parking policies. The Environmental Agenda accomplishment is a major political challenge. Objectives indicated in the Treaty of Paris and shared by the United Nations to reduce pollution need to be achieved.

In that context Renato Berto, CAME Parkare Managing Director, presented a case study from an Integration Web Platform developed for the city of Madrid (Spain). The platform allowed the city authorities to manage parking meters from three different manufacturers with a centralized management.  Also helped them in their effort to reduce pollution with dynamic tariffs depending on the CO2 emissions of vehicles, occupancy rates or distinguishing commercial vehicles from private ones.
